We were embarrassed *for* the FBI following the Charlie Kirk assassination. We followed the local coverage since this hit close to home. Patel was a clown creating a circus. It seems the biggest break was when the parents of the alleged assassin called law enforcement. We wondered how much Patel damaged the investigation. I've often speculated since Patel took over how much the FBI can still be trusted under his influence. It is a dark place for the agency to find itself.

I appreciate what you've written here. I hope, someday soon, that we can restore much of what we lost in this administration. It may mean rebuilding everything. I hope we have that opportunity.

Patel is so over his head, often appears ‘out of his Head,’ that the FBI will henceforth be considered ‘dicey’ at best.

This administration has compromised so much of the government and government offices that it will take time to build trust with citizens again. If we can retake the government. The levels of cheating happening to prevent the return of our government are appalling.

So we'll said! We have SO MUCH to clean up. We are going to need strong leadership and people with integrity.

Welcome to Substack and Bluesky Andy! I have been listening to you and Allison since the Jack podcast.

I can't imagine how bad the morale must be for the agents who, on top of the misjudgments and firings etc, have to deal with the daily stupid shenanigans of someone who does not appreciate the enormous responsibility of the job of the director and doesn't treat it with the seriousness that the job requires.

Also, when reciting his own account of the female size jacket imcident, Kash Patel claimed that the agent call him "boss". I am sure they dont call him that!

Patel would have already been fired a long time ago, in ANY other employment situation. Attendance is literally the first requirement of work. Showing up may be more flexible in today's work environments, but it certainly is not a “vibes” or personal choice, at least not at the leadership level. Thinking he fears imposter syndrome for good reason. He should never have been given the position.

I never thought when they fired you < 24 hours before your retirement that I would later get to know you in a more “personal” way. Love your dry humor and integrity via the Jack podcast, Unjustified, and now the real Mc Cabe! Thanks for all you do and giving us hope🙏🏼

LOVE LOVE LOVE

NOW I GET TO READ YOUR ARTICLES

AWESOME THANKS 👍 😎

Excellent first article. Patel is already counter-messaging with "statistics".....how many criminals arrested, indicted, convicted, even deported; how many terrorist attacks stopped, etc.

Any easy way to look at comparable stats from recent past directors' tenures? Something the news media should be doing, but I have not seen it.

So grateful for your voice and wisdom in these difficult times

Patel is a gadfly who mistakes ideology for truth - hence his disregard for evidence, procedure, and due process. Thank you for setting out the requirements for the job, none of which this tasteless mock-up a public servant possesses.

Miss your steady hand at the FBI.

No excuses here … but (1) payback is all Patel has known, and I think he was inclined to it anyway and (2) that’s what his boss wants, and Patel is nothing if not a boot licking sycophant. This just demonstrates why he was unqualified in the first place, but supine Rs went along. I hope he’s gone very soon.
